A chilly morning transitioned into a beautiful, sunny afternoon for the final day of showing at the Camden Spring Classic.
Hunter Highlights
Bonham Oval
O.C. ridden by Kaitlin Porath and owned by Kaitlin and her family’s Meadow Hill Stables won the Amateur Owner Hunter Championship as well as the $1,500 Junior/Amateur Owner Hunter Classic.
James Bond and owner/rider Amanda Young won both over fence classes today in the Junior Hunters, clinching the Junior Hunter Championship.
Mike Rosser’s Insbrook and rider Holly King also won both of their over fence classes today in the Adult Amateur Hunter 18-35 on their way to earning the Championship.
Sally Kay rode Joann Loheac’s Southern Saluut to the Adult Amateur 36+ Championship.
Grace Howard and her horse Bethel’s Peri received the Championship honors in the Children’s Hunter 14 and Under, while Madison Rex and her horse Beaujolais captured the Children’s Hunter 15-17 Championship.
Cool Music and owner/rider Megan Rosenthal were the winners of the $1,000 NAL/WIHS Adult Amateur/Children’s Hunter Classic.
The Taylor Harris Insurance Services Children’s Medal was won by Jillian Moezzi.
Top honors in the Leadline went to Abbygail Gordon on her sister Libbie’s pony, Louis Viutton.
Ring 2
Libbie Gordon and her pony Louis Viutton won the Small/Medium Pony Hunter Championship as well as the $1,000 Pony Hunter Classic.
Green Pony Hunter Champion was awarded to Madison Matthews and her pony Otteridge Swanson, while the Large Pony Hunter Championship went to Billabong and owner/rider Hannah Siegel.
Pre-Children’s Hunter Champion was Addison Byrd and her horse Too Cool, while the Pre-Adult Hunter Championship went to Fortune’s Turn and owner/rider Carolyn Cheshire.
Children’s Hunter Pony Champion was earned by Allie Jo Brown and her pony Templeton.
The Short Stirrup Hunter Championship was awarded to In A Dream owned by Meadow Hill Stables and ridden by Kameryn Fincher and the Short Stirrup Equitation Championship was won by Lindsey Rigney.
Jumper Highlights
Rebecca Warth and Sovan Hill Enterprises’ Tornado Alley were the Champions in the Low Children’s/Adult Jumper.
Elizabeth Porath was champion in the Children’s/Adult Jumper aboard Madrid D’Auvray owned by Elizabeth and her family’s Meadow Hill Stables.
Chantilly was Champion in Pony Jumpers with owner/rider Kathleen Fritz.

After a night of heavy rains, Mother Nature was kind to us and cleared things in time for our 9am start.

Junior Hunters, Amateur Owner Hunters, Children’s Hunters and Adult Amateurs started showing today and will complete their divisions tomorrow.
The SCHJA Governor’s Cup was won by Hannah Siegel.
The $20,000 USHJA International Hunter Challenge Derby was won by Liza Boyd aboard Brunello owned by Boyd and Janet Peterson. Liza also placed second aboard Quatrain owned by Finally Farm and Janet Peterson. Third place honors went to Jennifer Alfano aboard Helen Lenahan’s Miss Lucy and Jennifer also placed fourth with SBS Farms Inc’s Jersey Boy. Rounding out the top five was Daniel Geitner and Living Color owned by Robin Hughes.
Ring 2
Small/Medium Pony Hunter, Large Pony Hunter, Green Pony Hunter, Pre-Children’s Hunter, Pre-Adult Hunter, Children’s Hunter Pony and Short Stirrup Hunter began showing today and will complete their divisions tomorrow.

Blue Me Away owned and ridden by Morgan Avery and Madrid D’Auvray owned by Elizabeth Porath and Meadow Hill Stables and ridden by Elizabeth Porath each won a class of Children’s/Adult Jumper.

The inclement weather posed a threat today, but with only one short hold, the Camden Spring Classic was able to complete the day as scheduled.

Daniel Geitner won the Championship in the 3’ Pre-Green Hunter aboard Robin Hughes’ Deliberate and Liza Boyd was the Champion in the 3’3” Pre-Green Hunter aboard Joann Loheac’s Chestnut Avenue. The Pre-Green Hunter Classic was won by Liza Boyd and Marilla Van Beuren’s Marksman.
Caroline Willard rode Fernando Cardenas’ Reigning Parfait to the Championship in Performance Hunter 3’ and Joy Janouskovec and Nancy Ross Merritt’s Walk The Line were Champion in the Performance Hunter 3’3”.
The Modified Children’s/Adult Hunter Championship was won by Elizabeth McKim and her horse III Wishes and the Modified Junior/Amateur Championship went to James Bond and owner/rider Amanda Young.
Ring 2
Elena Portu and Carolyn Cheshire’s Fortune’s Turn received the Championship for Hopeful Hunter and Bruce Christison and Mary Cheatham’s Florin were Champion in Baby Green Hunter. The Schooling Pony Championship went to Libbie Gordon and her pony Louis Viutton.

Kathleen Fritz and Kirk Kamish’s Cinnamon Twist was the 1.00 Meter Jumper Champion and the 1.10 Meter Jumper Championship was won by Cecelia Erwin aboard her horse Mystery Machine.

The second day of showing at the Camden Spring Classic started out with a misty morning and turned into another blue sky day.
Hunter Highlights
Bonham Oval
Jennifer Alfano and Liza Boyd continued their winning streaks in the Working Hunters. Jennifer rode Karen McDonald’s Rapunzel to the win in both over fences today and was Champion in the 1st Year Green Working Hunter and Liza won both over fences to clinch the Championship in the combined 2nd Year Green/High Performance Working Hunter with Erin McGuire’s Casallo.
Liza continued her winning ways in the 3’3” Pre-Green Hunters winning both over fences and the under saddle aboard Joann Loheac’s Chestnut Ave and in the 3’ Pre-Green Hunters winning both over fences classes with Sarah Orberson’s First Dance.
3’3” Performance Hunter started today with Joy Janouskovec and Nancy Ross Merritt’s Walk The Line and Keith Hastings and Coleman Murray’s Cape Town each winning an over fences class.

Showing began today for Ring 2: Elena Portu and Carolyn Cheshire’s Fortune’s Turn won both over fences and the under saddle in Hopeful Hunter and Bruce Christison and Mary Cheatham’s Florin won both over fences classes in Baby Green Hunter.

April Aryan and Tuff Competition Farm’s Nevis were Champion in the 0.95 Meter Jumper after winning both classes yesterday and finishing second today to Chantilly and owner/rider Katheen Fritz.
Grand Slam owned and ridden by Sarah Orberson and Kathleen Fritz with Kirk Kamish’s Cinnamon Twist each won a 1.00 Meter Jumper and the 1.10 Meter Jumper was won by Cecelia Erwin aboard her horse Mystery Machine.

It was a beautiful blue sky day for the first day of the Camden Spring Classic. Showing started today and will continue through Saturday, with no showing on Sunday to allow exhibitors and staff to enjoy the Easter Holiday with their family and friends.

The ladies dominated in the working hunter divisions; Jennifer Alfano won both over fences and the under saddle in the 1st Year Green Working Hunter aboard Rapunzel owned by Karen MacDonald and Liza Boyd won both over fences and the under saddle in the combined 2nd Year Green/High Performance Working Hunter aboard Casallo owned by Erin McGuire.
Jumper Highlights
April Aryan won both 0.95 Meter Jumper classes on Tuff Competition Farm’s Nevis and Erin McGuire and her horse Cascadini won both the 1.00 Meter and 1.10 Meter Jumper classes.
The 1.20 Meter Jumper class was won by Dale Wright aboard the Greystone Sales owned Greystone’s Tongue Twister.
